Author Bios - Meet the Sisters of Audacity
Rose Campbell-Smith
Rose Campbell-Smith lives beside the sea in East Lothian, Scotland, with her long suffering husband and her big, lazy dog. Rose is the mother of a 25-year-old daughter, a community volunteer and a regular surfer. Currently studying for an Open University degree, Rose has a wide variety of interests, including environmental science and Latin, as well as her true love, writing.
Rose would like to send a huge thank you to her husband, John, her daughter, Lauryn, and all her family and friends for their amazing love and support. To those who’ve left footprints on her heart—your love and guidance will stay with her forever.
Scotland, her beautiful home, thank you for your stories and spirit that inspire her every day.
And to the teachers, mentors, and friends who’ve helped her grow—your wisdom means the world. She's so grateful to have shared this journey with you all.

Aimee McGowan
Growing up in Scotland gave Aimee a deep love of nature and family bonds. She uses these loves in her writing, creating emotional and meaningful stories. Aimee is a health and safety consultant by day, pet lover and baker by night. When she’s not writing, Aimee spends her time completing her degree at The Open University, volunteering for her local school and taking care of her two little boys.
Aimee values family, and would like to thank her Nanny Ann, Mum Sandra, Karen, and sister Abbie: Thanks for being so strong and kind, she couldn’t do it without you. A huge thank you to her two boys, who show her that life doesn’t need to be full of adventure to appreciate its beauty.
Robin Montgomery-Smith
A storyteller and lover of language with one foot in fiction and the other in real life (and occasionally tripping over both), Robin Montgomery-Smith writes short tales and is currently wrangling a historical fiction novel into submission. She’s been published in online magazines, trade journals, and once self-published a book inspired by her own life events—proof that questionable decisions make excellent plot twists. Armed with a first-class honours degree in English Literature & Creative Writing, she lives in Scotland, where she’s been long enough to call drizzle a personality trait.
I want to thank my husband, Peter for his love and unwavering support, my children and grandchildren for keeping my feet on the ground, my friends and extended family for always cheering me on, and of course these amazing women who have allowed me to join them in the wonderful journey to finishing this epic project. But I have to give special thanks to my grandparents, Harold and Jessie, because without them, I would not be the me I am today.

Charity Reed
Originally from Cumbria, Charity’s love of nature and awful weather has seen her move further north to rural Scotland. A writer of short stories and poetry, she tends to focus on whatever pops into her head at the time – usually around the themes of love and family, nature, sci-fi, and murder. She graduated from the Open University with a first class BA (Honours) in Arts & Humanities (English and Creative Writing), and she loved it so much she’s now embarked on the Creative Writing MA.
Charity would like to thank her incredibly talented parents, Helen and Trevor, for passing on a little of their genetics, Debs, Ruth and Jesse for being there throughout everything, Declan for being the most discerning reader ever, Jude, Amis, Aggie and Ada for giving her some small sense of responsibility, Irene Hossack for being an inspirational tutor, and Dr Sharon Goodman for all your support.

She enjoys drawing, painting and reading in her spare time and is currently in her final year of a BA (Honours) Arts & Humanities Degree (Creative Writing).
Laura would like to thank her family for all their motivation and support. A special thanks to her son, they have been one another’s rock, establishing a stronger relationship in the past seven years as they navigate their grief together.
And to all the inspiring women she has met through this process, she wouldn’t be here without them.

Gaynor Adkins - Illustrator
Gaynor is an illustrator, and the founder of Quirky Queen Illustrations. Her work is bold, blending curiosity, provocation, and humour, to explore themes of social justice, inclusion, and identity.
With a First Class BA (Hons) from The Open University and an upcoming MA in Illustration at Falmouth University, Gaynor blends punk aesthetics, visual symbols and patterns with layered meaning, and joyful defiance.
The cover for Cloud Sneezing stitches together themes of female empowerment, elevation, sisterhood, and matriarchy, into a patchwork of resilience. Gaynor’s illustrations are designed to provoke thought, spark curiosity, and deliver messages that matter.
Lee Jackson - Editor
Author, editor, and story evangelist.
Stories are how we make sense of the world, share our knowledge, and build connections. I took on the editing and organising of this anthology project to help a new batch of emerging authors do just that. I am honored to be a part of their efforts.
I’ve been a writer and editor in various industries for forty years. I have degrees, honours, certifications, and whatnot—some from the days just before the internet became a thing—but now I impart my knowledge of story craft to engineers, researchers, and administrators at NASA.
In my free time, I write speculative fiction, study everything writing, and coach writers and editors. I live in Cleveland, Ohio with my family of humans and cats, more books than shelves, and cabinets full of collectable curiosities.
